Working at Height & Dropped Objects

Working at Height & Dropped Objects.

Working at Height & Dropped Objects.

Height safety training built from your structures: anchor points, harness checks, exclusion zones and the drops that never get a second chance.

Did you know?

Falls from height remain one of industry’s biggest killers, and a dropped tool can be lethal long after the work above has finished.

Working at Height Training

Working at height covers any task where a person can fall far enough to be injured, which on industrial sites extends well beyond scaffolding:

  • Scaffolds and temporary platforms
  • Ladders and step access
  • Mobile elevating work platforms
  • Roof work and fragile surfaces
  • Edges, openings and excavations

Falls remain one of the leading causes of workplace fatalities, and dropped objects extend the risk to the people below. Both hazards come from the same work, so complete training covers both.

Working at height training follows the hierarchy of control: avoid the height where possible, prevent the fall, mitigate the consequence. Workers learn anchor selection, harness inspection and fit, equipment checks and tagging, exclusion zones and tool tethering, and what the rescue plan requires when someone is suspended in a harness.

Why SHIIFT

SHIIFT has no favorite format, and that's the point: we produce all of them, so height training gets the mix your crews actually need. Content follows your procedures and your incident history, never a template.

  • Training videos: real falls, rescues and survivor accounts that give briefings the weight the statistics deserve
  • Animation: fall physics, clearance distances and dropped-object energy, none of which a camera can film safely
  • E-learning: harness, anchor and inspection rules on record for everyone who works above ground or below others
  • Interactive scenarios: anchor selection, kit checks and rescue decisions made and scored without anyone leaving the ground
  • VR: the exposure that builds respect for the edge, used where that intensity earns its place
  • Posters: inspection criteria and tool-tethering reminders where kit gets picked up and jobs get planned
  • PowerPoint materials: toolbox decks for crews working at height and crews working beneath them

Rescue planning runs through the whole program, and results can report per learner through optional SCORM integration.

Get Started

Working at height and dropped-object prevention share the same spaces and the same crews, so we train them together: the worker above, the barrier below and the planning that protects both.

Scenarios draw on your incident history and lessons learned, with per-learner assessment data available where you take the LMS option.

Common questions

What does working at height training cover?

+

We cover anchor selection, harness inspection and fit, rescue planning, tool tethering and exclusion zones, built on your structures and procedures.

Can it reflect our actual platforms and scaffolds?

+

We build the training on your procedures and equipment, and on the real situations your crews work in. Where a program calls for navigable or interactive scenes, we can also model structures from drawings and photos, but that's a choice we make per program, never a default.

Does it cover dropped objects too?

+

We train falls and dropped objects together, because the same work creates both risks, and we show learners the consequences from above and below.

How can height risks be trained safely?

+

We train height risks without putting anyone at height: hazards are shown on screen, and learners make the decisions and get scored safely. We build the program from our full format range and recommend the mix that fits your crews and your structures.

Can training assets be reused for future courses?

+

Where a program builds 3D assets, we reuse the structures modeled for your height training across inductions, hazard hunts and rescue preparation on the same sites.

How is height safety competence assessed?

+

We score scenario decisions, checks and omissions per learner and report them to your LMS through the optional SCORM add-on as auditable evidence.
